About this material
Welcome to our website!
Thank you for coming to learn and discover more about the diagnosis of glomerular diseases. Chronic kidney disease has a global prevalence of 9.1% and is now one of the twelve leading causes of death worldwide.¹ The main causes of CKD are hypertension and diabetes. In third place among the causes, glomerular diseases contribute to almost a fifth of all cases of chronic kidney disease.²
With this collection of glomerular patient cases, we want to show you how an initially unspecific patient presentation can lead to a diagnosis. Insights into the patho-zooms will show you how pathogenic changes in the glomeruli present themselves and which descriptions can be found in the pathologist’s report.
We hope that you will find clues for your everyday clinical work in the patient cases. Some of the glomerular diseases are rare, so it is important to have support for the diagnosis at hand when confronted with them. We hope that you can find this on our Educational Platform.
Yours sincerely, Novartis Medical Team.
